Je suis une couleur
Chandran Gallery in San Francisco is pleased to present Je suis une couleur, a solo show of new oil on canvas paintings, oil with graphite on paper works, process sketches and ceramics by Paris-based artist, Inès Longevial. With a classic style and contemporary subject matter, Longevial has gained international recognition for her timeless portrait works and elegant use of color. With an aesthetic that at times speaks to art of the early 20th Century, Longevial’s practice is both classic and completely fresh, a channeling of the iconic studio painter that speaks to daily life in the 21st Century.
For Je suis une couleur, Longevial completed the entire body of during a residency in San Francisco prior to the exhibition. Je suis une couleur will encompass both floors of Chandran Gallery, on view from October 19, 2018 through November 21, 2018. There will be an opening reception on October 19, 2018, from 7—9pm.
Chandran Gallery was established in 2013 and presents a contemporary program, exhibiting established, mid-career and emerging artists to a worldwide audience. The gallery supports artists in transcending boundaries of discipline and presentation. In September 2015, Chandran Gallery opened its doors at its permanent location in Union Square, featuring a newly built 4,500 square foot, 2-level exhibition space.
